10 Fall Pie Crust Designs

Happy fall y’all! Pie season is officially here. (I personally think it’s pie season, year round…but that’s just me).

If you’re anything like me, you have a lot of pie in your future. Between apple picking, Friendsgiving, and Thanksgiving—your oven is about to be in overdrive.

Which means you need insta-worthy pie crust ideas…naturally. Take a peak at a few of my favorite autumn inspired pie crusts. Hap-pie baking.

For these fun crust designs, you’ll find a few tools very handy:

Fall Banner

Throw some leaves and pumpkins on your pie and top it with an adorable fall banner.

Don’t Stop Be-leaf-in’

No such thing as too many leaves. All you need is a bit of patience and a lot of pie crust dough.

Watercolored Fall Leaves

Use a bit of watercoloring (aka food coloring) to add fall colors to your pie crust.

Hap-pie Thankgiving

Puns on pie are always a good idea. Letter cutouts are essential, unless you have the hands of a surgeon.

Pumpkin Toppers

Pumpkin pie may not have a top crust, but that doesn’t mean you can’t add a few embellishments. I love these with leaves, pumpkins, and cranberry decorations.

Hi Savannah! I usually freeze the leaves for 5 minutes or so before I add them to the pie. I find that helps them preserve their shape when baking. I also like to brush them with an egg wash when the pie is almost done cooking to give the leaves that nice golden brown look. (Similar to how you brush a lattice crust topping with an egg wash!) Good luck!
