Chocolate Covered Strawberry Pie

I have news for you. Apparently I’m the worst pie blogger ever. Today is a big holiday in the pie world and I had no clue.

pre baking

It’s National Pie Day…according to my reliable sources at nationaldaycalendar.com. (Because I guess 3.14 is not celebration enough for this high maintenance dessert). Continue reading “Chocolate Covered Strawberry Pie”

Pumpkin Chocolate Swirl Pie

It’s the best week of the year: Thanksgiving week!

Short week, long weekend and more pie than you know what to do with. JK. We’re obvi going to eat it.

What dish are you in charge of at your Thanksgiving dinner this year? The BF and I are heading to both of our families this year so I’m on the hook for six (!) pies. Seven if you count our post turkey day friendsgiving. Good thing I find pie making pretty therapeutic. (Except when I burnt the butter twice today…)

Fall pie crust design with leaves

My turkey day pie marathon has officially kicked off for our annual “MergeGiving” at the office tomorrow. (Merge = our agency’s name).

Rather than make my usual pumpkin pie recipe that my coworkers have all tried, I decided to shake it up.

Which brings me to this Pumpkin Chocolate Swirl Pie. I used my Continue reading “Pumpkin Chocolate Swirl Pie”

Cold Brew Coffee Pie

Fellow caffeine lovers—today is a monumental day. Pour yourself a big cup cause it’s National Coffee Day. Not sure who made that designation…if it were me, I’d give coffee at least it’s own month. But nevertheless, as loyal coffee fans we can’t miss out on an opportunity to do what we do everyday celebrate coffee.

I’m taking it a step further today (surprise, surprise) and giving you this glorious cold brew coffee pie. Since you’re already drinking your morning cup, you might as well switch it up with an afternoon coffee cocktail too.

Toasted S’mores Pie

It’s the first full week of fall, and it definitely feels like it in Chicago. There’s the slightest chill in the air which has me dreaming of apple cider doughnuts and pumpkin picking.

Just because bonfire season is ending doesn’t mean we have to wait for s’mores until summer. Snuggle up with a cozy sweater and your kitchen torch, cause we’re about to eat s’mores pie all year long.

I’ve always been under the impression that no one buys gummy worms unless you’re 5 years old or your kid is 5 years old. Tbh I don’t know the last time I even had a gummy worm. But guys, they’re actually v delicious. So why am I back on the gummy worm train? Well…

Usually when I make a pie I try to force feed it all to my ultimate pie-tester (the boyfriend). However he seems to think a whole pie is too much for one person. What kind of ridiculous madness is that? Continue reading “Dirt Cup Chocolate Pudding Pie”

Nutella Pie

Hap-pie pi day, friends! Hope your day has been filled with lots of pie (sweet, savory, pizza…whatever floats your boat).

No shame: I had pizza for lunch and dinner, plus pie for dessert.

Nutella Pie | via Pies Before Guys

In honor of Pi Day I have a new *delicious* recipe. But first…there’s some Nutella controversy out there, so let me start with this: I have no illusions that Nutella is “healthy.”

But it’s delicious.

So YOLO, I’m eating it. And I’m eating it in this delicious pie because it tastes good on everything. Continue reading “Nutella Pie”

St. Patrick’s Day Mint Pie

As a kid I looked forward to St. Patrick’s Day solely for the McDonald’s mint shamrock shakes. I’m a fan all things mint—mojitos, thin mints, this pie…

The problem was…shamrock shakes aren’t sold at every McDonald’s. So it was essentially a month long scavenger hunt. With no clues. 🤷‍♀️

But because people are lazy there’s an app for everything, this year there’s a McDonald’s Shamrock Shake Finder. Kids these days…they don’t understand the struggle of the shamrock shake search.

So instead of going to McDonald’s, I created a pie version of the beloved shamrock shake. Which basically means it’s a Continue reading “St. Patrick’s Day Mint Pie”
